Terms & calculator limits

These terms govern use of this site, an informational calculator. They are not legal advice, and they do not replace a vendor’s terms, quote or contract.

Version: these terms describe the site as of 2026-10-28. They may be corrected or updated; the version on this page is current, and material changes are recorded on Updates.

• Estimates, not quotes. Results are arithmetic on published rates or on clearly labeled customer-reported inputs. A starting price or a floor is not a complete cost.
• No professional advice. Nothing here is legal, tax, accounting, financial or payment-processing advice.
• Check before relying. Vendors change prices and terms. Every page shows the date its sources were checked; confirm current terms with the vendor.
• Unknowns and scenario assumptions are labeled. Unverified values are not presented as vendor facts. Where a scenario substitutes an assumption, that assumption and the resulting subtotal or limitations are labeled. Missing components remain unknown in complete-cost comparisons. Conflicting values are excluded as described on each page.
• External links are provided for verification. This site does not control third-party pages or their availability.
• Provided as is. The site, its tables and the calculator are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, availability or fitness for a particular purpose or decision. Use your own judgement and the vendor’s written terms.
• Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any loss or damage of any kind, whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, arising from use of or reliance on this site, its calculator or any linked page. Any decision based on this site is made at the reader’s own risk.
• Changes to the site. I may change, add or remove any content, vendor, calculator feature, page or monetization method, or change the site’s focus, at any time without prior notice. Material changes are recorded on Updates.
• Changes to these terms. These terms may be updated at any time. The version date near the top of this page shows the latest update, and continued use of the site after an update means acceptance of the updated terms.
• Suspension or discontinuation. I may suspend, restrict or discontinue the site, or any page or feature of it, at any time without notice or liability.
• No relationship. Using this site does not create a customer, agency, fiduciary or advisory relationship with me or any vendor.
• Monetization. No affiliate links, sponsorships, commissions or ads are present on this site today. Affiliate links, sponsorships, ads or other monetization may be added later; if any are added, they will be labeled next to the link or placement and on the Disclosure page.
• Ownership and permitted use. Site text, tables, calculator code and design belong to me; vendor names, trademarks and quoted vendor wording belong to their owners. Reading the site, using it for personal or internal business decisions, and quoting brief passages with a link to the source page are permitted. Copying, republishing or reselling substantial parts of the site requires my written permission. Crawling and indexing as allowed by robots.txt are permitted.
• Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Any dispute about this site or these terms is handled by the courts located in New York.
